Saturday – As progress is made at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, in reactivating cooling systems the discovery of small amounts of radioactivity food and water, which was discovered in milk and spinach near the power plant, raises new worries. It could potentially be in fish as well.
Japan Volcano Erupts / Volcanic Eruption:
As if there wasn’t enough for the residents of Japan, add a temperamental volcano to the list. On Sunday Japan’s Kyushu Island – the Shinmoedake Volcano began spewing ash and rock and lava… footage below:

Japan Nuclear Explosion:
Monday: The second hydrogen explosion Japan’s stricken Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant Monday at the plant’s Unit 3, sending a massive column of smoke into the air and wounding workers. It was not immediately clear how much — if any — radiation had been released.

at 10:08pm ET CNN reports – Japan’s chief cabinet secretary, Yukio Edano said at 11:54 a.m Sunday Tokyo time [9:54 pm ET Saturday ] – a meltdown may have occurred at at least one nuclear power reactor; and the possibility of another meltdown at a second reactor.
Tokyo Electric Power [Tepco] said radiation levels at the plant had exceeded the legal limit – Sunday morning. Japan’s nuclear safety agency said – hourly radiation at the site was measured at 882 micro sievert, in excess of the allowable level of 500. The level had briefly risen 1,204 micro sievert said Edano.
Authorities released steam to relieve pressure from the second overheating reactor.
